Keywords - Not Provided?

Domain NamesBy now many of you analytics fans would have found out recently that Google have made some changes to query data being passed from keywords in the organic search results. Before we would get a nice and tidy set of results on how many visitors came from certain keywords but this has all changed for organic search.

It seems Google are stating some keywords from visits as 'not provided' for all visits that have apparently come off people logged into their Google account. This could well help user privacy but does generally make it more difficult for the SEO industry to monitor organic keyword performance from the search engines. .

Currently there has been no outstanding solution around this so we will be keeping a keen look into any more releases from Google and advice they might have to still gather as much accurate data as possible for incoming traffic. .

In the meantime we shall still be using the data we can obtain in analytics to track as much ctr% and keywords to conversions on our sites to judge which are the best performing keywords we target for our clients. .

However if you are a big user of PPC do not worry, it is apparent that PPC users do still get the query data passed. For more information go to the offical analytics blog for Google.
